Sustainable sourcing of raw materials from the hunting sector at Hunti.Danti – quality and ethics in taxidermy.
Johannes JanderSustainable raw material procurement
As a licensed taxidermy company, we at Hunti.Danti place the utmost importance on responsible and sustainable sourcing of raw materials. Our taxidermy products are made exclusively from legal and ethical sources, because respect for nature is our top priority. It is particularly important for us to emphasize that our goal is not to increase the number of animals hunted. Instead, we want to ensure that the animals that are hunted are used in the best possible way, in order to use resources responsibly and avoid waste.
Origin of our preparations
Most of our taxidermied animals come from strictly controlled hunting, which serves to regulate wildlife populations and is monitored by authorities. This is not indiscriminate killing, but a targeted measure to maintain healthy wildlife populations. Without these measures, individual species could reproduce uncontrollably, leading to damage to agricultural land and natural habitats. Studies show, for example, that excessive populations of ungulates can cause significant damage in forests by affecting young trees through browsing and bark stripping ( nationalpark-harz.de ). At the same time, responsible hunting ensures that weak or sick animals are removed, thus allowing the population to develop healthily and stably in the long term. Hunting follows strict regulations and contributes to maintaining the ecological balance. However, it is important to note that intensive hunting pressure can lead to an increased reproduction rate in some species, such as wild boar and deer (quarks.de ). Therefore, balanced and scientifically sound wildlife management is essential to achieving the desired ecological goals. Only animals that have been killed as part of this sustainable management find their way into our taxidermy department.
Another important aspect of our raw material procurement is the careful selection of our suppliers. We work exclusively with hunters who share our values regarding sustainable hunting and ethical principles. We carefully select our partners and place great importance on a relationship built on trust. Furthermore, we personally collect the animals to ensure quality and compliance with all animal welfare regulations. This allows us to guarantee the highest standards in taxidermy while simultaneously ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources.
By taking current scientific findings into account and working closely with expert authorities, we ensure that our practices are not only ethically justifiable but also ecologically sound.
Sustainability and species conservation
The protection of endangered species is our top priority. We do not carry any specimens of protected animal species without the appropriate documentation and permits. Our work is carried out in accordance with the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and applicable national laws.
Transparency and responsibility
We place great value on transparency and always provide our customers with information about the origin of our products. Our goal is not only to offer high-quality products, but also to educate and raise awareness about the sustainable use of natural resources.
